Because I wanted to change some messaging settings for Calamares, I needed to connect to IRC again. And that told me

So apparently I have been using only Matrix for messaging around KDE things (and Calamares, and FreeBSD) for nearly a year. Since the bridges between IRC and Matrix have fallen down, I’m now stuck either wrangling IM infrastructure (with Andrius’ and Anke’s help, but it’s a waste of time for all of us) or just saying “here is the one (and only one) chat channel to reach Calamares”. Given the available emotional energy (e.g. lack of desire to monitor two chat applications), it is really likely that IRC is going to fall by the wayside.
