At the KDE4 release event one of the two contest winners, Aaron Stansvik (I think) stood up and explained how he ran a bookshop and cafe and how he had little or no Free Software to support that business. Kraft (Klaas Freitag’s artisan support software) isn’t quite the right thing, apparently. But today on kde-apps I spotted Lemon POS which might be more applicable. Ask and you shall receive? At least if you have a common kind of itch there’s a chance someone knows how to scratch it. At that point the participative model of software development can kick in: having a dedicated beta tester who can grow into a coder / translator / documentor is a valuable thing.
